Ceramic & Porcelain Tiles

SAIME (Società Anonima Industrie Materials Edili) was founded in 1938 in Due Madonne in Sassuolo on the initiative of the Gambigliani Zoccoli family who took over a part of the company originally founded by the Rubbiani family in the mid-nineteenth century from the Siliprandi family. With the Gambigliani Zoccoli family together with the professionalism of Eng. Padoa the first productions of ceramic stoneware were developed with innovative tunnel kilns, replacing the old Hoffmann kilns. During the Second World War the Saime was almost entirely destroyed by bombing. In the mid-sixties, Saime moved from the center of Sassuolo to Maranello where it is currently located. Following a corporate crisis in 1987, Saime was taken over by the Riwal group and subsequently became one of the largest and most productive plants in the area. In 2007, SAIME together with the entire Riwal group (at the time also comprised of the Alfa and San Prospero Lux commercial brands) became part of the Casalgrande Padana group.
